There are certain phrases in IT that set me off.

For example, I am instantly suspicious of any idea that is proposed because it is “a best practice”. Appeal to authority? Appeal to status quo? I’m not sure, but what it lacks is anything describing why it is a good idea here and now.

Thanks +Tim Ottinger for reminding me that in the real world, I’m not the only one with this problem.
